SMPS Webinar: Inside Marketer to Outside Business Developer - The Challenges and Rewards of the Transition

Have you recently made the transition from marketing to business development? Or are you thinking about it as a future career goal? Marketing is often project driven (proposals, brochures, marketing collateral, press releases) and focuses on building "one-to-many" relationships. On the other hand, business development is an ongoing process made up of "one-to-one" relationships. Yet, there can be a natural progression from a career in marketing to business development. Business development plays a crucial role in the success of a firm, and as a business developer, your contributions can have a significant impact on your firm. But how do you take that first step? Where do you begin?

The SMPS Business Development Institute (BDI) brings together three business developers, from firms of varying sizes and disciplines, who have recently moved from marketing to business development roles. As the panelists share their stories, attendees will gain insight from the lessons learned.

Presented by: Anne Crowe Kroger, MBA, CPSM, Jennifer Crawford, Ashley Dale, CIT and Karen O. Courtney, AIA, FSMPS.
